This creature is by far one of my favourite when it comes to appearances! Gorgeous bold colours from blues and greens, to reds and yellows, accompanied by some black to make the colour even more striking. The first picture I saw of this specimen, the colour looked like that of an African beaded artwork, the bright colours resembling as much!
“Why is that vine moving? Must be the wind. Wait… Why is that vine biting me?!”
My guess; it’s not a vine.
Snakes are more often than not viewed as aggressive, but I’m here to say perhaps we should look at it in a different light and see it as defensive, instead.
That’s right, folks! Unicorns exist, they just don’t look all together how we thought they would! The people really got it wrong in the books; no long flowing mane, or sparkly white coat, but its got a horn!
A gorgeous creation that is quite unique in its patterning, that at first glance would look like moss on the forest floor, perfect for hiding in amongst the brush. This is truly an enchanting creature and I will be going into a bit of detail about why this snake is so special.
The Gaboon Viper is of Adder lineage, so I will be referring to them as Gaboon Adders, as that is what I’ve come to know them as where I’m from.
I felt it necessary to explain something as there is one question that has continuously irritated and frustrated me to my core: is this snake poisonous? Or people explaining their encounter with the poisonous Puff Adder the other day… that’s amazing! You found something really special there, as not even scientists found this rare specimen yet! Lucky you!
